Malika and Padmashri bring a mix of influences to kirtan music with a refreshing folk sound that uniquely accompanies ancient mantras. Although they come from different backgrounds, as soon as they met a beautiful collaboration as a kirtan band came to be. Padmashri has been a devotional singer for most of her life, singing everything from Gregorian chant to Yogic mantras. Malika is an acclaimed folk musician with an international influence - singing in French, Arabic, English, Spanish and Pali. Together their music will move you to tears, inspire you to get up and dance, and maybe even open your heart to Love.

Padmashri has been a serious student of Yogic Meditation and the language of mantra, Sanskrit, for over 8 years. She brings a depth of connection to the mantras that can ease a total beginner into kirtan, as well as providing seasoned kirtan-goers with an authentic experience. Her greatest joy is to introduce the healing power of mantra to people with music and is grateful to her dear teacher, Manorama (Luminous Soul/Sanskrit Studies), for her continued guidance and support on this path.

With a multilingual international folk career under her belt, one EP (Manifest some Love 2009) and one album, (Barefoot, Smiling 2012), Malika has traveled and performed solo, with a band, or with native instrumentalists on many continents and in many languages. Collaborations with other musicians she has met on the road and shared the stage with have inspired her to move in different directions and explore the varied aspects of her voice. She creates songs to tell her stories and enjoys singing melodies of the spirit everywhere she goes... Enriching her experiences and connections with music, yoga and meditation, she now collaborates with yogini Padmashri on a devotional music project called Samanvaya Kirtan. They offer mantras sung in Sanskrit and Pali, for which they have created modern melodies to bring chant to the world, sharing with open hearts and co-creating love and compassion for all sentient beings.
